Cuba Tennis Camp – January, 2015
My wife and I attended a one-week tennis vacation at the Melia Cayo Santa Maria Resort , Santa Maria
Cuba, January 18 – 25, 2015, organised by Amr Shagara. It was a great experience! Monday through
Friday we spent 2 hours in the morning working on drills followed by 1.5 hours of play time late in the
afternoon. Each player also received 1 hour of personalized private instruction. The down time
between each session was used for relaxation and cooling off in beautiful surroundings that included an
amazing beach and two pools. The relaxation continued in the evening with dinner, shows, and
gathering with the group sharing stories. Saturday was a relaxation day that was well earned! We
would recommend this camp to any enthusiastic tennis player!

Amr was very energetic and motivating both on and off the court. He arranged the trip start to finish and looked after all the details so we could focus on tennis. I particularly benefitted from the fitness drills, where I had to focus on technique when pushed physically, especially in the heat.
Each day was very well organized and truly a new experience.
All of our accommodations were definitely a 5 star.
None of us knew each other only to say hello, but by the end of the trip we had all bonded, as travelling with Amr he keeps everyone together and adds a special touch with his calm and pleasant disposition,
He makes it a very fun trip. Travelling thru the different airports was also very relaxed as Amr has everything under control.
We all went with an open mind, and I truly think this is the best way to travel.
I enjoyed every new adventure, and to share this with your fellow travellers makes it a lasting memory.
All of our tour guides and drivers were great, (except the guide in Jordan) had trouble understanding him.
The food was awesome really enjoyed it. You have to love olives as there are lot’s in Turkey.
People were all very friendly and very willing to help you.
Have done a fair amount of travelling to different countries, but this was a whole new experience as Turkey is a very beautiful country and also Jordan was wonderful too.
You must experience this once . The hot air balloon ride was soo relaxing.
Happy travelling with Canworld.l
In October this year, I travelled to Turkey and Jordan with CanWorld Travel. I loved the trip. It was very well planned, with a range of experiences: camel rides, Bosphorus cruises, a hamam, bathing in the Dead Sea, and a range of destinations: historic sites – the Blue Mosque, Ephesus, Petra; areas of natural beauty- Pamukkale, Wadi Rum, Fairy Chimneys in Cappadocia and of course, shopping in the bazaars. Inter-destination travel was in the evenings, rather than using daylight hours, and three strategically placed “down days” meant that we didn’t become overtired by continuous sightseeing. The tours were well chosen to give a good taste of each country (for example, in Istanbul, we saw the modern city as well as the historic area) and we had outstanding local guides. Hotels were all excellent; I particularly liked the cave hotel in Cappadocia. While most meals were included –and we had some wonderful ones- there were opportunities for us to try the local cuisine on our own. We travelled with Turkish Airlines and I can honestly say it’s the best airline I’ve ever flown with. I actually looked forward to the meals! Our leader was Amr Shagara. I was really impressed by his combination of skills: he is a great organiser, planner and communicator, and a considerate and sensitive leader. He shouldered all the worries of travel; we always knew where we had to meet and what we had to have with us. One of our local guides said to me that she had never seen a tour organiser who took such care of his “flock”. His pre-trip planning included advice on money (amount to bring, where best to change it); we gave him money for gratuities at the start of the trip and and he took care of all the tips. I left the group at the end of the trip to return via the UK; he organised the extra flights, offering me alternatives and keeping in touch through the process. And he is such fun!! I can highly recommend CanWorld Travel and Amr Shagara; I will certainly travel with him again.
